Blake & JL

Domestic deck construction

Blake and JL wanted to replace an existing deck which was in need of repair, with a larger entertaining space for their growing family.

They discussed their plans for an elevated deck with us, and we worked with them to develop a plan for a much larger space. We advised that he included a roof (for maximum usability), and once the plans were finalised work began immediately.

As a qualified electrician, Blake was able to save some costs by assisting with the job himself.

The job was completed in time for their son’s christening party, which saw the unveiling of the new deck to their family and friends.

Rob & Amanda

Domestic renovation and extension

Rob and Amanda lived in an existing 1970’s two-story house in Yarraville. They loved the location, but as they had international connections – plus a growing family – they needed to gain some more living space.

Their plans were to renovate the existing house, and build a two-story extension to house a new expansive kitchen/lounge/dining area. They had a relatively large yard, but some heavy-lifting was needed to remove several existing structures from the previous occupancy.

Over a period of around 6 months; Rob, Amanda, and their two small children stayed with relatives while work was underway at their property. Rob and some of his friends from his local soccer team were able to assist with the project to help keep the labour costs down.

Now that the project is complete, Rob and Amanda have a beautiful family home which has enough room to host the occasional international guest, and Rob has even managed to realise his dream of a separate bar and a games room!

Toby & Amanda

Domestic renovation and deck

Toby and Amanda bought in the attractive suburb of Heathmont to be close to the schools, and – as is common in this area – their block is on the side of a hill. The existing property needed work, but Toby and Amanda decided to develop in a staged approach; initially the urgent maintenance was undertaken first, with a larger more extensive renovation plan planned for 2 years later.

From a run-down 3 bedroom weatherboard, with a leaking ground-floor store-room, Toby and Amanda now own a newly-refurbished/developed 4 bdr, 2 bathroom house, with a ground floor rumpus, master suite, an open plan lounge/kitchen and wrap-around deck. This new space is a welcome development for the family as they have 3 extremely active children!
